Our kind of April Fools' Day prank!
Brian White, an editor of the Web site, Rocklandnews.com, knows how to pull an April Fools' Day prank; and he has proven, through his April Fools' Day antics, that the town of Rockland, MA has its share of air-heads. (And, of course, by air-heads, we are referring to our own definition of the word.)
According to an article from Wicked Local Rockland, for the past three years (It appears that this year was actually the fourth year, though.), Brian White has pulled a prank in which he has said that "Rockland’s famous Duffy Brothers [would] fly their F-14 'Tomcats' jets 100 feet over Union Street in Rockland center." Of course, being an April Fools' Day prank, the event never took place, and the joke was on the residents of Rockland.
It's any wonder that anyone shows up for the event, with Brian White having cried "Wolf" (or, rather, "Tomcat") for the past three years. But, what Brian White needs to do, when residents stop attending, is have the Duffy Brothers actually perform the fly-over. It would be the perfect ending to "The Editor Who Cried 'Tomcat.'"
