Thunder Over the Boardwalk, 2006

It wasn't thunder you heard over the Atlantic City Boardwalk but the sound of a variety of aircraft, including the roar of F-16s and F-18s, just to name a few. For the 4th year, the show was no disappointment.

In fact, this year was probably the show's best year yet, especially with the demonstrations by both the US Navy's Blue Angels Demonstration Team and the US Air Force's Thunderbirds Demonstration Team.

But, the show had many other highlights, including a pass from a B-2A Stealth Bomber and a demonstration by an F-22 Raptor, which couldn't be missed, even as both aircraft passed time off in a distance, waiting for their turn to come center show.

The show had a great turn out, with an estimated 500,000 or more people in attendance, which is probably a correct estimate given the crowded beach and boardwalk and the crowded roads coming into and leaving Atlantic City, before and after the show.

Below are just a few pictures from the Blogging Air-Heads. We will be posting more of our pictures from the 2006, Atlantic City Airshow. We hope you enjoyed the "Thunder Over the Boardwalk" as much as we did, and we hope you enjoy our pictures!
